Diversity Programmes

We have two broad service offerings: Diversity Exposure Programme and Managing Diversity in the Workplace

1. Diversity Exposure Programme

What we do

This programme facilitates exposure to various dimensions of identity and diversity using a variety of experiential modalities. We aim to celebrate our uniqueness and our connectedness through story-telling. We use evocative spaces, rather than classrooms or conference centres, to inspire delegates and to allow them to reflect on internal processes.

What we’ve done

Our flagship Diversity Exposure Programme is taking place in Investec Bank, a multinational private and investment bank. The 3-day programme has been running since 2011 and has been rolled out in 4 main South African regions: Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town.

2. Managing Diversity in the Workplace

What we do

These workshops examine the diversity issues that exist in your organisation, looking at what is working and what is not working in terms of diversity, and building solutions within natural work teams. Methodologies that we use include:

  • Diversity surveys using one-on-one interviews and focus groups
  • Exercises that examine stereotypes and prejudice
  • Group process workshops getting to team solutions
  • Promoting understanding of dimensions of diversity: status, gender, education levels, religion, culture, race, sexual preference, and relationship to power and authority
  • Creating interpersonal and intercultural understanding through storytelling

What we’ve done

We conducted several hundred Managing Diversity workshops at Anglo Platinum and at Anglo Coal, working with natural work teams to surface issues of racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination, and to empower teams to move forward with a new spirit of cooperation.
